October 2005

Our October Meeting was a further planning meeting.

The group met at the Bell Inn, Bishops Lydeard, to discuss the event planned for 1st November. As regular readers will know by now, the group exists to, firstly, provide training and support for small businesses, and secondly to introduce small businesses to others, with a view to introducing each other to work opportunities.

Penny Griffiths from the Somerset Chamber of Commerce and Industry joined the group as options were discussed.

The meeting was mainly about practical arrangements for the event.

Two other topics were covered:-

• Penny Griffiths brought a leaflet about possible grants from "Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Sustainable Development Fund". David Oliver agreed to look through the information to see if the group is eligible.
• Training Station workshop - 22nd November "PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS IN 2 MINUTES" - network with fellow members and meet potential clients. To be held at Bridgwater College, 6-9pm. Contact Penny Griffiths - 01823 321231 or mobile 07887 633260 - for more details.
