The June meeting was attended by Paul Robottom from SCAT, Mark Davies from Richard Huish and Ian Weston for the Somerset Skills Support Project.

After an initial overview of the project we each had an individual chat to establish our personal training requirements. From that we also established one particular training need which was generic to the group.

The training requests ranged from IT help to learning to drill holes in walls (for Pat’s curtain poles!). All were taken on board by the training providers and they are returning to us individually to arrange dates etc. The really powerful “can do” attitude from Paul and Mark was much appreciated.

As a group we agreed on “Promoting yourself – Getting the business to come to you” as a training need we could all benefit from. This is being scoped out by the training providers but initial thinking was a 3-6 hour training session for all the group in the Church Rooms with a follow up session to focus individually on how each of us would take the training forward in our businesses. The date we are working for is September 16th.
